SEALING MATERIAL: clay balls or
hydron pellets

VFF clay balls and hydron
pellets solve the sealing problem in well construction
Quartz and clay are the main
components of the hydron pellets and clay balls. The material is inert under the
prevailing chemical conditions and is not subject to chemical changes over time. In
particular, it has no negative influence on water quality.
The VFF clay balls are simply poured from the transport package into the gaps to be
sealed, even for applications at depths of several hundred metres. Different sizes are
available to cater for different gap widths: 5 mm, 7-8 mm, 12-13 mm, 21-22 mm, 27-28 mm or
larger. Under the influence of the moisture contained in the soil, the clay balls swell in
the gap to form a homogeneous, ductile and waterproof layer.
For special seals in civil
engineering, road and sewer construction, pile foundations, dam and slope stabilisation
etc., the VFF sealing materials are available in the form of discs, cubes or strands with
a wide range of sections with high-vacuum viscoplastic consistency or as powdered clay.
